St Hilda's Church Hall, Crofton Park. In April 2026 I streamed a Caribbean funeral at St Hilda's on Courtrai Road, then followed the family to Grove Park Cemetery for the committal. Relatives who couldn't travel saw the hymns, the tributes and the burial as they happened. You can watch it above.
St Saviour's, Brockley Rise. In May 2025 I live streamed a funeral at St Saviour's in Forest Hill for family and friends who couldn't be there. The replay stayed on the same private link afterwards, so anyone who missed it live could still watch the service in their own time.
Lewisham crematoria, cemeteries and churches
Lewisham Council runs Lewisham Crematorium and Hither Green Cemetery on Verdant Lane, plus Grove Park, Brockley and Ladywell cemeteries. Plenty of families also use crematoria just over the border: Honor Oak in Southwark, Eltham in Greenwich and Beckenham in Bromley. I cover them all.
Church funerals here range from Christ Church, Forest Hill and St Bartholomew's, Sydenham to St William of York Catholic Church and the borough's independent and Pentecostal churches. Many go on to a graveside, as the Crofton Park service did, and I follow the family there.
