Funeral Slideshows UK | Tribute Videos & Memorial Slideshows

I'm Shaun, and creating funeral slideshows and tribute videos is one of the most personal parts of my work. Over the past ten years I've produced hundreds of memorial slideshows for families across the UK and for families overseas arranging funerals here in Britain — each one handled with the same care, attention, and respect for the memories entrusted to me.

A funeral slideshow — sometimes called a tribute video, memorial slideshow, or celebration of life video — brings together photographs, video clips, music, and meaningful words to create a lasting tribute that can be shared, remembered, and revisited for years to come.

Whether it is played during the funeral service, at a wake, as part of a funeral live stream, or at a separate celebration of life, a well-made tribute video creates a moment of reflection that gently brings people together — helping everyone present pause, remember, and connect with the life being honoured.

What is a Funeral Slideshow or Tribute Video?

A funeral slideshow is a professionally created film made from photos, video clips, music, and meaningful text, designed to tell the story of a loved one's life in a natural and heartfelt way. It can reflect childhood, family life, friendships, work, hobbies, later years, and all the moments that mattered most.

Some families want a short and simple photo slideshow with music. Others want a longer tribute video that includes video clips, captions, written messages, or several songs. However it is structured, the purpose is the same — to create something personal, respectful, and meaningful that feels right for the service and for the person being remembered.

These memorial slideshows are often shown as people arrive, played during the service as a central tribute, used at the wake or celebration of life, or shared privately afterwards. They often become one of the most treasured parts of the day and one of the most lasting keepsakes a family holds onto.

For inspiration and ideas, take a look at my guide to beautiful tribute films and my article on how to create a funeral tribute film.

Who funeral slideshows help

Funeral slideshows help families who want a simple but powerful way to tell the story of a loved one's life. When words feel difficult, a tribute video can often say what needs to be said more gently and more completely — using familiar images, favourite music, and memories gathered across the years.

They are especially helpful when family members are struggling to pull everything together on their own, when relatives abroad want to contribute photos or messages, or when the service needs a visual tribute that can bring everyone together for a few meaningful minutes.

They can also be deeply valuable when someone wants to prepare a tribute in advance, while they are still alive, so that their chosen photos, music, words, and voice can be part of the farewell when the time comes. That is not the most common request — but when families or individuals do ask for it, it can be one of the most meaningful things I produce.

Why Families Choose a Funeral Slideshow

Families choose funeral slideshows because they provide a personal and visually powerful way to honour someone's life. Photos that may have been tucked away for years are brought together, arranged with music, and turned into a tribute that helps everyone present remember the person as they lived, loved, and were known.

They are also flexible. A slideshow can be shown in a church, crematorium, natural burial setting, village hall, hotel, pub, family home, or other celebration of life venue. It can be played as a standalone tribute or combined with other services such as funeral live streaming, videography, or on-the-day AV support.

For many families, the finished tribute video becomes one of the most treasured things they keep from the day — something they return to quietly at home and share with children, grandchildren, and relatives who were unable to attend.

Tribute videos created in advance

Not every tribute video is made in the days immediately before a funeral. Some people choose to create a memorial slideshow in advance, while they are still alive, so that it can be passed to the family or funeral director and played at the service when the time comes.

This may include photographs chosen in advance, favourite music, text written in their own words, or even recorded messages and voiceovers. For families, this can remove real pressure at an already difficult time and create something deeply personal that reflects the wishes and voice of the person themselves.

If you are thinking about arranging a tribute video in advance for yourself or someone close to you, I can guide you through the process gently and at your own pace.

Can funeral slideshows be combined with other services?

Yes — and this is something I do regularly. Funeral slideshows are often combined with funeral live streamingfuneral videography, and funeral photography to create a more complete and lasting record of the day. This allows family and friends who cannot attend in person to take part remotely, while also ensuring the tribute video becomes part of the wider experience and, where needed, part of the final film.

Many families choose to include the slideshow within the main service, within the live stream, or at a celebration of life afterwards. When these elements are planned together, everything feels more seamless and there is less for the family to worry about on the day.

Where needed, I can also provide the AV support required to display the slideshow properly — screens, projectors, sound systems, and on-the-day playback management.

How my funeral slideshows and tribute videos work

Creating a funeral slideshow should feel as simple and supported as possible. I manage the process from start to finish so everything feels clear, calm, and easy to follow — even during a difficult time.

1. Upload your photos, videos and memories
I send you a secure link where you can upload photos, video clips, and any text you would like included. You can send your images in any order and let me choose the flow, or if you would prefer a specific sequence, simply rename the files and I'll follow your order exactly.

2. Choose your music and style
You choose music that feels meaningful to the person being remembered, along with any particular tone or ideas you would like the tribute to reflect. If you are unsure, I'm always happy to guide you and suggest what might work best.

3. Professional editing and image enhancement
I carefully edit everything into a cohesive and beautifully structured tribute video, combining your photos, videos, music, and written messages. Where needed, I also improve image quality — correcting colour, adjusting brightness, and restoring detail where possible so the memories look their best on screen.

4. Review and final adjustments
Once the slideshow is ready, I send it to you for review. You can request any changes or final touches so everything feels right before the day of the funeral or memorial.

5. Ready to play and share
After approval, I provide a high-quality digital file or download link, ready to be played during the funeral service, wake, or celebration of life — and shared with family and friends afterwards.

Most slideshows are completed within 2–3 days. If you need something urgently, please let me know and I'll always do my best to help.

A Thoughtfully Crafted Tribute Film — Natalie's Extended Memorial Slideshow

Natalie's memorial slideshow is a good example of how a tribute can be expanded to tell a fuller and more detailed story of a loved one's life. Her family came to me through a recommendation from another family I had previously worked with, and wanted something more extensive than a shorter tribute film.

They chose a larger collection of photos, carefully arranged with meaningful titles and music across multiple tracks — creating a longer and more immersive memorial slideshow that could be shared during the service and afterwards. This gave different stages of her life room to breathe, and the film had a real sense of flow and progression that a shorter tribute couldn't have achieved.

For families who want to go beyond a shorter slideshow and create something more complete and lasting, this extended approach can work beautifully. I can tailor the length, structure, and content to suit the person's life and the tone of the service.

Funeral Slideshow Prices

My funeral slideshow services start from £220, with the final price depending on the length, complexity, and amount of media involved. I create around 50 to 60 funeral slideshows each year, and every one is made individually — tailored to the service, the person, and your preferences.

Option 1 – Photo Slideshow – £220

Perfect for a simple and beautiful tribute.

  • Up to 35–40 images

  • 1 music track

  • Colour correction where possible

  • 2–3 day turnaround

  • Secure upload link

  • Digital download

Option 2 – Photo & Video Slideshow – £280

Ideal for combining photos and video clips.

  • Up to 35–40 photos

  • Video clips included

  • 1 music track

  • Colour correction

  • 2–3 day turnaround

  • Digital download

Option 3 – Extended tribute film with voiceovers

For families looking for a more detailed and personal tribute, Option 3 combines photos, music, video clips, and recorded voiceovers into a single extended tribute film. It is often chosen when relatives would rather record messages in advance than speak at the service, or when the family wants a more narrative tribute that tells the story of a life in greater depth.

Because these films vary significantly in length, content, and complexity — especially when several people contribute recordings or when you want to include multiple pieces of music — pricing for this option is bespoke. Call or text me on 07772 509101 and we can talk through your ideas and I'll provide a clear quote based on what you'd like to include.

Audio Visual Support for Funeral Slideshows

In some cases, families simply need help with the visual and audio side of the funeral, without needing full filming or live streaming. This might include providing a TV, projector, or sound system, as well as managing the slideshow and music playback during the service itself.

This can be especially helpful when the tribute video is a key part of the service and needs to be played at exactly the right moment with the correct setup. You can learn more on my AV and Equipment Hire page.

Additional Services

I also offer additional services to enhance your tribute, including photo scanning and digitising, AI image enhancement, voice recordings from family members, and extended memorial slideshow options. For families with printed photographs, I can often visit your home to scan everything safely so your memories never leave your possession.

These extra services can be especially helpful when time is short, when the family is spread across different locations, or when older printed photos need to be included in a professional tribute video.

Where Funeral Slideshows Can Be Shown

Funeral slideshows and tribute videos can be shown in many different settings — during the funeral service, at a celebration of life, at the wake, as part of a funeral live stream, or shared privately afterwards. They can also be included within funeral videography, becoming part of a wider and more complete record of the day.

I regularly create tribute films for church funerals, crematorium services, memorial events, celebration of life gatherings, and services in less traditional venues across the UK. I also work with families living abroad who need a tribute created for a UK funeral.

Frequently asked questions about funeral slideshows

What is the best way to create a funeral slideshow?

The best way is to combine meaningful photos, music, and any personal messages into a simple, well-structured film. Most families choose images that reflect different stages of life, arranged in a natural order and supported by music that feels right for the person being remembered. Having it professionally created ensures everything flows smoothly and feels polished on the day.

How many photos should be included in a funeral slideshow?

Most funeral slideshows include between 30 and 40 photos, depending on the length of the tribute and how it will be used. Shorter slideshows may include fewer images, while extended tribute films can include more — especially when spread across multiple songs. My guide How Many Photos Should a Funeral Slideshow Have? goes into this in more detail.

What is a funeral slideshow also called?

A funeral slideshow is often also called a tribute video, memorial slideshow, memorial video, or celebration of life video. These terms are used interchangeably to describe a visual tribute made from photos, music, and personal memories.

How long should a funeral slideshow be?

Most funeral slideshows are between 3 and 6 minutes long, depending on the number of photos, music choice, and the format of the service. Longer tribute films can also be created when you want to include more memories or several pieces of music.

What is the easiest way to create a funeral slideshow?

The easiest way is to use a professional service that manages the editing, timing, and presentation for you. That allows you to focus on choosing the photos, music, and messages, while I make sure the final slideshow works smoothly and is ready for the day.

What should you avoid when creating a funeral slideshow?

It is usually best to avoid using too many similar images, poor-quality photos where better ones are available, or music that does not fit the tone of the service. Keeping the tribute clear, well-paced, and focused on meaningful moments usually creates the strongest result.

Can a funeral slideshow include video clips and voice recordings?

Yes. Many families choose to include short video clips, voice recordings, written messages, and other personal elements as part of a more detailed tribute film. These additions can make the final video feel even more personal and emotionally meaningful.

Can a tribute video be created in advance of the funeral?

Yes. Some people choose to create a tribute video in advance, while they are still alive, so that it can be played at the funeral or celebration of life when the time comes. This can be a very personal and thoughtful way to shape how they are remembered.

Can a funeral slideshow be used with live streaming or videography?

Yes. A funeral slideshow can be integrated into funeral live streaming and funeral videography so it becomes part of the wider coverage of the day — especially useful when people are watching remotely or when the family would like one complete record afterwards.

How much does a funeral slideshow cost?

My funeral slideshows start from £220 for a simple photo slideshow with music. More detailed tribute videos, including video clips, voice recordings, or extended storytelling, are priced according to the amount of editing and complexity involved.
