General FAQ’S

  • UK Funeral Video Services is a specialist provider of funeral live streaming, funeral videography, funeral photography, memorial slideshows and tribute films, AV/PA support and celebration of life filming across the UK. We focus on calm, discreet coverage that helps families include people who cannot be there in person.

  • We travel throughout England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, regularly working in churches, crematoria, cemeteries and other venues across the UK. Travel is discussed and agreed as part of your quote so there are no surprises.

  • We are happy to be contacted directly by families, funeral directors or venues. For each booking we liaise closely with the funeral director, minister, celebrant and venue staff so that everything is arranged in a way that fits smoothly around the order of service.

  • Yes. We have experience supporting Church of England and Catholic services, Caribbean and African/Nigerian funerals, Asian funerals and more secular or personalised celebration of life events. Our approach is always to follow the lead of the family and the minister or celebrant, and to work with real cultural awareness and respect.

  • Our aim is always to be as unobtrusive as possible. We arrive early, set up quietly, use professional but compact equipment, and work from fixed positions agreed in advance so that the focus remains on the service and the family.

  • Yes. You can see examples of our work on our funeral live streaming, videography and photography portfolio pages, as well as in selected case studies and articles on our blog. If you would like to see a particular type of service or venue, just ask and we will share relevant examples where we have permission.

FUNERAL STREAMING FAQ’S

  • Our funeral live streaming typically includes a two‑camera setup in 1080p HD, professional microphones for clear sound, bonded internet for a more stable connection, a private viewing link for invited guests, a recording of the stream and online hosting for a set period after the funeral. We can usually cover church, crematorium, cemetery and graveside elements where required.

  • Streams are private and are only shared with the people you invite. We provide a unique viewing link and can protect access where needed, so the funeral is not publicly listed or searchable.

  • In most cases, yes. The recording is usually available for 12 months after the service so people can watch later if time zones, work or health mean they cannot join live. If you need a downloadable copy for your own archive, we can arrange that too.

  • No. Viewers simply click the private link and watch in their web browser on a phone, tablet, laptop or smart TV. There is no need to download an app or create an account.

  • Yes. Many funerals move between a church or chapel, a crematorium or cemetery, and sometimes a reception venue. We can plan a multi‑location live stream so that remote viewers can follow the day as it unfolds, as long as timings and logistics allow.

  • We bring our own bonded internet system, which combines multiple connections to give a more stable stream. If a venue has particularly poor coverage, we will discuss the options with you in advance and may also record locally so that a full version can be uploaded afterwards if needed.

  • There is normally no practical limit for the kinds of private funeral streams we provide. You can share the link with as many family members and friends as you wish, including people overseas.

  • Yes, we can incorporate a memorial slideshow or tribute film into the live stream, and we can show the order of service on screen at appropriate moments where this is helpful. We will discuss these details with you before the day.

Where can I read more about how funeral live streaming works?

For a fuller explanation, including more technical detail and additional FAQs, please see our main Funeral Live Streaming page and the dedicated Funeral Streaming FAQs section at the bottom of that page and our guide on How Funeral Streaming Works.

  • Live streaming focuses on sharing the service in real time with people who cannot attend, while videography focuses on creating a carefully edited film that can be watched at any time. With videography, we can include more of the day – such as arrivals, venue details, the service, graveside and reception – and shape it into a fuller story.

  • Funeral videography usually includes coverage of arrivals, the venue, the service itself and, where requested, the graveside and reception. We use multiple cameras and professional audio to capture readings, music and tributes clearly, then edit everything into a film that reflects the tone of the day.

  • Yes. Some families choose to have the funeral filmed and also a separate celebration of life, reception or memorial event. We can discuss how to cover both in a way that feels natural and not intrusive.

  • You will usually receive a private online link to watch the film, and we can also supply downloadable files so you can keep your own copies safely. If you need the film in a particular format for sharing with family or playing at a later event, we can talk through the options.

  • Yes. Many families ask us to handle the live stream, create a filmed version of the day and provide photography. We can extend our team so that the coverage works smoothly without feeling overwhelming on the day.

  • When handled sensitively, funeral photography can be very appropriate and meaningful. We focus on natural, documentary‑style images of people, details and moments – such as the venue, flowers, orders of service and quiet interactions between family and friends – rather than posed pictures.

  • We work as unobtrusively as possible, using compact cameras and agreed positions so that we do not distract from the service. We follow the lead of the family and the minister or celebrant at all times.

Funeral AV Services (TV Screens, PA & Technical Support)

What AV and technical support can you provide for funerals?

We can provide TV screens, projectors, PA systems and microphones for churches, crematoria, chapels and reception venues, along with on‑the‑day technical support. This can include playing tribute films and slideshows, managing music playback and making sure everyone can see and hear the service clearly.

Can you help if the venue has limited or older equipment?

Yes. Many venues have limited or inconsistent AV setups. We can bring in our own TV screens, speakers, microphones and playback equipment where needed, or work with the venue’s existing system if it is suitable. We will liaise with the venue in advance to agree the best approach.

Can you provide microphones for ministers, celebrants and readers?

Yes. We can supply microphones for the minister or celebrant, readers, musicians and anyone giving a tribute, so that both people in the room and those watching a live stream can hear clearly.

Can you play music, slideshows and tribute films during the service?

Yes. We can manage music playback, run memorial slideshows and play tribute films at the right points in the service. We will ask for the files in advance so everything can be tested and ready to go on the day.

Do you stay to manage the AV throughout the service?

In most cases, yes. We do not just drop equipment off – we set up, test and stay to monitor sound and visuals throughout the service so you do not have to worry about the technical side.

Where can I read more about your AV and technical support?

For more information about AV options, typical setups and additional FAQs, please see our Funeral Audio Visual Services page and its AV/technical FAQs section, where you can also see examples of how AV support works alongside live streaming and filming.

Funeral Slideshows & Tribute Films Frequently Asked Questions

  • A funeral slideshow or tribute film is a short visual tribute made from photos, video clips and music that can be shown during a funeral, memorial or celebration of life. It can be as simple as a gentle photo montage or a more detailed film combining images, words and audio.

  • We usually ask you to provide a selection of photos (and video clips if you have them), the person’s name and key dates, any short captions you would like, and a few pieces of music that feel right for the tribute. We’ll then discuss the overall length and style with you.

  • As a guide, many tributes work well at 3–7 minutes, often using one to three songs, but this will depend on the service and your preferences. We can advise on the ideal number of photos and overall length so the tribute feels complete but not rushed or overly long.

  • Yes. If you are not sure where to start, we can suggest structures, music ideas and simple wording that will work well on screen. We’ll guide you through the choices so it feels manageable rather than overwhelming.

  • Yes. We can show the slideshow or tribute film on screens at the venue and include it within the live stream and recorded version, so that people watching online see the same tribute as those in the room.

  • We will normally provide a download link and, where needed, prepare a version optimised for playing at the venue. If you are working with a specific crematorium or chapel system, we can supply the file in a format they are happy with.

Celebration of Life Services FAQs

Do you also support celebration of life events, not just funerals?

Yes. We regularly support celebration of life services, memorial gatherings and receptions, as well as more traditional funerals. These events often have a different tone and structure, and we adapt our filming, streaming, photography and AV support accordingly.

What can be filmed or streamed at a celebration of life?

We can film or live stream speeches, tributes, readings, music, slideshows and other moments you would like to include. Some families choose to focus mainly on the tributes and shared memories, while others want a broader record of the whole event.

Is the approach different from a traditional funeral?

Often, yes. Celebration of life events may be more informal, with more participation from family and friends, different styles of music and a wider range of content. We take time to understand the tone you want so that our coverage supports that atmosphere without ever taking over.

Can you include messages or contributions from people who cannot attend?

Where possible, we can incorporate pre‑recorded messages, photos and short video clips from people who are unable to be there in person, either within a tribute film or as part of the wider coverage. We can discuss what is practical based on timings and the venue.

Where can I read more about celebration of life filming and streaming?

For more detail on options, examples and additional FAQs, please see our Celebration of Life Services page, where you can also find links to relevant guides, slideshows and portfolio examples.

Can you help with slideshows, tribute films and music for a celebration of life?

Yes. We can create and run memorial slideshows or tribute films, manage music playback and provide TV screens and PA systems where needed, so that everyone can see and hear clearly. This can be particularly helpful in larger or more informal venues.

Booking, Timings & Practical Questions

How far in advance do we need to book?

As soon as you know the date and likely timings, it’s best to get in touch so we can confirm availability and start planning. We often work to fairly short notice, but earlier contact gives more time to discuss details with your funeral director and venue.

Can you help if our funeral has been arranged at short notice?

Yes, we will always do our best to help with short‑notice funerals. If we are available, we can move quickly to agree the plan, liaise with the funeral director and venue, and make sure everything is in place for the day.

What information do you need to provide a quote?

We usually ask for the date, approximate timings, locations (for example church, crematorium, cemetery or reception), which services you are interested in (live streaming, videography, photography, slideshows, AV) and any particular requirements such as multi‑location coverage or tributes. This allows us to give you a clear quote with no hidden extras.

How do we confirm a booking?

Once you’re happy with the quote and outline plan, we’ll confirm everything in writing and explain how to pay any deposit that may be required. We will also stay in contact with your funeral director and venue so that everyone is working from the same information.

How long do you keep recordings and photos?

Live stream recordings are normally hosted online for a set period after the funeral, and we can provide download links so you can keep your own copies. Edited films and photo galleries are also delivered via private online links. We will explain how long each type of content will remain available and how you can safely store copies for the long term.

Can you work directly with our funeral director or venue contact?

Yes. Many families prefer us to handle technical conversations with funeral directors, churches, crematoria and venues. Once you have introduced us, we can speak to them directly about timings, access, power, internet and AV, while keeping you updated.

What if we change our minds about what we need?

If your plans change – for example, you decide to add a slideshow, extend coverage or include an additional location – please let us know as soon as possible. We will always try to accommodate changes and will confirm any adjustments to the plan and quote with you in writing.
