Worcestershire Funeral Videographer - Macca Aged 18

St James the Great Church, Worcestershire - May 2018

St James the Great Church, Worcestershire - May 2018

I must admit that this was a very difficult day to film. A whole village came together to say goodbye to Macca who tragically died in a car accident aged just 18. The sense of loss for his family and village was immense but everyone came together to celebrate his life and share happy memories of Macca for everyone to reflect on.

The thanksgiving service took place at St James The Great in Cradley, Worcestershire and was beautifully led by the Vicar. Friends and family also took part sharing memories, singing solo's and focusing on the bundles of energy with which Macca had led his life.

"Hi Shaun, I Just wanted to say a massive thank you for the video, it was absolutely beautiful. Thank goodness for people like you who make it possible for this to happen.

Thanks Hayley & Nathan - 15th May 2018 - Ipswich Funeral

Last week I had a request from Southgate & Roberts Funeral Directors who booked me to film a funeral in Ipswich, suffolk on behalf of the family who live in Australia. Due to being unable to fly, the family were unable to attend the funeral today, which must have been devastating for them. So I was tasked with the job of getting up at 5:15am and travelling 140 miles to Ipswich to film the ceremony at St Mary & St Peter's Church, Barham and then driving 140 miles back to the office to edit the film for the family within a 24 hour period so they could view it at their earliest convenience. I love a challenge and this morning seems a long time ago now, but 12 hours after setting off I'm back in the office, the film is complete and uploading for the family ready to view which I'm thrilled with.

A big thank you to Reverend Jenny Ablett, an amazing, kind, generous vicar who made me feel so at home. A lovely accommodating church which I have to say made my job today so much easier. Thank you Jenny to you and all your staff who helped out today. You did such a lovely job of Colins ceremony.

Watford Funeral Videographer - Buddhist Ceremony - 10th May 2018

Today I travelled to West Herts Crematorium in Watford to Film a Buddhist Sri Lankan Funeral. I filmed the arrival of the guests, the hearse as it approached the crematorium, pallbearers as they carried the coffin, the ceremony, family and friends as they paid their respects to Percy and everyone as they gathered outside afterwards before leaving for the wake.

The Buddhist monks added so much to the ceremony with their chanting sutras as they performed the traditional Buddhist rites.  Percy's family wore traditional white clothing and family members reflected on the way he lived his life and how he showed much kindness to others. He sounded like an amazing man.

It was an absolute privilege to be chosen to film this lovely ceremony on behalf of this beautiful family.

Traveller Community Funeral - Pershore Abbey - 2nd May 2018

2nd May 2018 - Pershore Abbey and Pershore Cemetery, Cotswolds

2nd May 2018 - Pershore Abbey and Pershore Cemetery, Cotswolds

Today I filmed a funeral for the Traveller Community in Tewkesbury, Cotswolds. This was a big funeral and such a lovely family who had lost someone who was a real cornerstone of their community.  Sarah's thanksgiving ceremony took place at Pershore Abbey which is a very beautiful church. As the hearse arrived the heavens opened, which is meant to be a good sign in the traveller community. When I say the heavens opened, I mean it really did throw it down but luckily I had my umbrella and someone held it for me as the coffin was carried into the church for the ceremony.

After the ceremony it was off for the burial at Pershore Cemetery. Family and friends brought so many flowers. I have honestly never seen as many in all my life. The creativity behind them was incredible. There were caravans, Turkish delights, giant hearts made from roses, dogs, tv stands from her favourite shows, jam jars and much more, all made from flowers. Incredible!

Feedback from Adam James Funeral Service

For me one of the most difficult aspects of funeral videography and funeral photography is striking a balance between capturing everything that unfolds, whilst at the same time making sure we remain non-intrusive and as discreet as we possibly can. This is really important to me as I work really hard to respect the day and those in attendance.

So I was absolutely thrilled when Adam James, a funeral director who's father recently passed away wrote to me with one of the most encouraging testimonials I have received. He wrote as follows:

funeral filming testimonial.jpeg
Dear Shaun,

After thirty years as a funeral director, I decided that upon the devastating loss of my own father that his funeral needed to be as exceptionally distinctive as possible. So that the memory of the day was not confused with the thousands of similar events conducted throughout my career, I turned to you to capture the entire performance on film, so that I could revisit the day in years to come.

Each and every detail that I had specified was videographer and edited to the highest standard, the sound and visual quality are superb. Your personal attention to detail was tasteful with a thorough understanding and knowledge of the event that you were engaged to document. The editing and varying camera angles have captured the entire funeral performance magnificently. All this was achieved by the remarkable non-intrusive and discreet presence of both yourself and your equipment.

I would not hesitate to promote and encourage any clients of Adam James Funeral Service to avail themselves of your excellence.

Warm Regards,
— Adam James Fortune - Owner of Adam james Funeral Service, Harrow

Liverpool Funeral Filming - Greek Funeral at St Nicholas Green Greek Orthodox Church, Liverpool

It was a really early start for todays funeral at St Nicholas Green Greek Orthodox Church in Liverpool. I started at the family home filming all the flowers, tributes, Horse and Carriage and family and friends as they all gathered for Elizabeth's journey to St Nicholas Green Greek Orthodox Church. Although I've covered lots of cultures, this was my first Greek Funeral in what was a very beautiful church. The gospel choir were amazing and added to the atmosphere of Elizabeth's Thanks giving Service. After the service we headed outside for the dove release and then it was on to Springwood Crematorium for the burial and final blessings.

Bristol Funeral Videographer

This was a very short day filming just the Thanks Giving Service of Emily Reed at St Mary's Stoke Bishop in Bristol. A really beautiful friendly church and they even made me a lovely cup of tea when i arrived. The Vicar was a close friend of Emily's and she led a beautiful service. Many thanks to the Reed Family for using us in the filming of her service.

London Funeral Videographers - Our Lady of La Salette Church, London Bridge

A few weeks ago I was Funeral Filming in London city centre again on behalf of F A Albin & Sons Funeral Directors.  The Memorial Service was for the late Stella Barlow and took place at Our Lady of La Salette Church near London Bridge shortly followed by the Cremation at Honor Oak Crematorium on Brockley Way

As London Funeral Videographers my biggest pressure is always the parking, especially when visiting four locations on this occasion. However, everything went really well and it was a beautiful day as Stella's family and friends gathered to pay their respects and say goodbye.

It was a very cold snowy day where we were filming just the Memorial Ceremony only. Thank you so much to Julian for booking us and for your kind words about our work. So much appreciated to receive such lovely feedback.
