Funeral Live Streaming, Photography & Videography in Battersea & Wandsworth | South London

I'm Shaun, and I provide professional funeral live streaming, funeral photography and funeral videography across Battersea, Wandsworth and the surrounding South West London area — from Ethiopian and Eritrean Orthodox churches in Battersea to crematoriums and cemeteries serving families across SW8, SW11, SW18 and beyond.

Battersea and Wandsworth are home to one of the most significant Ethiopian and East African communities in the UK, alongside substantial West African, Caribbean and multi-faith populations. I have experience working across all of these traditions, and I bring the same care, discretion and technical preparation to every service.

A Real Battersea Funeral — Ethiopian Orthodox Streaming at St Mary of Debre Tsion

One of the most moving and technically demanding services I have covered in South West London took place at St Mary of Debre Tsion Ethiopian Orthodox Church in Battersea — one of the principal Ethiopian Orthodox churches in the UK.

I travelled to London the night before to be ready for an 8am service, setting up cameras, testing connectivity and positioning microphones before anyone arrived. The coffin arrived wrapped in the Ethiopian flag. Four priests chanted the ancient liturgy in Ge'ez. Incense filled the church. The stream then continued to Islington & St Pancras Cemetery for the burial — in the rain.

Over 1,240 viewers from 12 countries and 42 regions joined live, including 383 in Addis Ababa, 193 in the UK, 140 in California, and viewers across Canada, Belgium, Italy, France, Switzerland and Germany.

Venues I Cover in Battersea and Wandsworth

St Mary of Debre Tsion Ethiopian Orthodox Church, Battersea SW8 — one of the UK's principal Ethiopian Orthodox churches. I have provided streaming here and understand the specific requirements of the Ge'ez liturgy, the ceremonial use of incense, multi-priest chanting and the extended service structure of Ethiopian Orthodox funerals.

Lambeth Crematorium, Tooting Bec — serving Wandsworth, Lambeth and surrounding South London boroughs. I cover this venue regularly.

Local churches and chapels — including Pentecostal, Baptist and African Christian churches across Battersea, Clapham and Stockwell with large, vibrant congregations and gospel music.

St Mary's Church, Battersea — a historic Thames-side church serving the Battersea area with a distinctive interior and setting.

Ethiopian and East African Funeral Streaming

Battersea and the surrounding area is home to one of the largest Ethiopian and Eritrean communities in the UK. Ethiopian Orthodox funerals have specific requirements that require genuine experience to handle well:

  • Early service times — often beginning at 8am, requiring overnight preparation

  • Ge'ez liturgy — the ancient liturgical language of Ethiopian Orthodox Christianity, chanted by multiple priests simultaneously

  • Incense and ceremonial elements — which affect both camera exposure settings and the visual character of the stream

  • Extended multi-venue services — typically moving from church to graveside, requiring coordinated setup at both locations

  • Global diaspora audience — with viewers in Ethiopia, the USA, Canada, Europe and beyond, stream stability across multiple time zones is essential

Connecting Families Across Africa, Europe and the Americas

Many families in Battersea have loved ones in Ethiopia, Eritrea, across the East African diaspora, the United States, Canada and Europe. Funeral live streaming allows those who cannot travel to be present in real time — watching on any device through a secure private link.

Every stream I provide is recorded and available to watch back for 12 months, with a free HD download included — so those in different time zones, including Addis Ababa and East African cities, can watch the complete service at any time.

  • Your work is truly remarkable

“My friend George Richmond, the Director of Photography for the Marvel movie Deadpool, took on the responsibility of selecting a videographer for my husband's funeral. He chose you out of everyone he looked at, and I am immensely grateful for that decision.

Your work is truly remarkable - from the beautiful opening shots to the impeccable sound quality and the finer details throughout. The way you captured the vibrant blue sky was touching, especially since my husband had such an affection for blue skies. My heartfelt thanks for everything you've done.”

  • He Kept a Low Profile

I booked Shaun fairly last minute to do the livestream of my aunt’s funeral. From the outset Shaun was organised and professional. He was very sensitive to the situation and gave me all the assurance I needed to book his services. On the day he arrived early to get set up and proceeded to do an immaculate job. He kept a low profile and was very respectful of the sensitive nature of the event. Everyone who has seen the video has commented on the high quality of both the audio and visuals. I have no hesitation in highly recommending Shaun to anyone looking for a professional videographer for their event.

"Shaun gave us very good and clear advice at the start. He worked tirelessly to make sure everything was just as we wanted it. Completed the videos in a very short window. Also completed extra videos and dealt with the funeral directors on our behalf. Has answered a million questions along the way with good grace and patience. The outcome has been amazing."

  • Shaun Did An Incredible Job

Shaun did an incredible job with the funeral videography of our family funeral. This was so important to us as we wanted to share the service with our families in Jamaica, Barbados, and the rest of the world.

From start to finish, Shaun was incredibly easy to work with. His availability during out-of-hours and late at night was a pleasant surprise. The finished video he produced exceeded our expectations. He captured all the culturally significant aspects of the funeral, ensuring nothing was missed. He worked tirelessly throughout the day, filming the family home, the church, the open coffin, the burial, and the wake. He wasn't intrusive, but worked diligently and with the greatest respect.
