Funeral Live Streaming, Photography & Videography in Crawley, Horley & the Gatwick Area

I provide professional funeral live streaming, photography and videography across Crawley, Horley and the wider Gatwick area — from historic village churches to crematoria and venues throughout Surrey and the Sussex border. Over the past ten years I've personally filmed hundreds of funerals across the South East, and I understand the practical challenges these older and more rural venues can bring — so families can be confident the service will be captured beautifully and streamed reliably, wherever their loved ones are watching from.

I arrive early, set everything up before guests arrive, and work closely with your funeral director, celebrant or clergy throughout, so that you and your family can focus entirely on the day. My role is to support the service without ever becoming part of it.

A Real Funeral — St Nicholas' Church, Charlwood

I recently live streamed a traditional funeral at St Nicholas' Church in Charlwood, a village on the edge of Gatwick, just minutes from Crawley and Horley. It's one of the oldest churches I've ever worked in — a Grade I listed Norman church, with parts dating back to around 1080, barely fourteen years after the Norman Conquest, complete with nationally important medieval wall paintings and thick stone walls that have stood for nearly a thousand years.

That history is beautiful, but it also made this one of the most technically difficult streams I've done in four or five years. Metre-thick Norman stone walls and old leaded windows block mobile signal almost completely, and Charlwood is a remote village where even locals struggle to get a phone signal. It took me over an hour on site to find a usable 4G/5G connection — but I found one, wired everything in, set up a two-camera shoot, and the stream ran perfectly from start to finish.

The coffin was already in place before guests arrived, and the funeral directors had everything set beautifully. The service was led by the celebrant, Sue, who was warm, calm and wonderfully accommodating throughout, guiding the day as family and friends shared tributes, readings and traditional hymns. When the service closed, the coffin was carried out and the family left together.

Altogether the service was streamed successfully to more than 67 devices across England, Scotland, Australia and Canada, so loved ones around the world could be part of the day in real time. It stands as a great example both of what a traditional village funeral looks like, and of the kind of difficult filming conditions that many less experienced live streamers would have struggled to overcome. The results speak for themselves — crisp, richly coloured, broadcast-quality footage from a thousand-year-old church in a signal blackspot.

What's Included

Every funeral live stream I provide in and around Crawley includes:

  • Two-camera setup — wide and close angles for full coverage

  • 1080p high-definition live streaming

  • Professional microphones capturing clear, balanced audio at every speaking point

  • Four bonded internet connections combined for a stable, reliable broadcast — never dependent on venue Wi-Fi

  • Private viewing link shared only with those the family chooses

  • Full HD recording available immediately after the service

  • Stream hosted online for 12 months with a free downloadable copy

Funeral photography and funeral videography can be provided alongside streaming as a single managed service. I also create funeral tribute films and slideshows and provide funeral AV support where needed.

Streaming Reliably in Difficult Venues

Older churches, rural chapels and remote villages are some of the hardest places to live stream a funeral — and they're exactly where families most need it to work, because relatives so often have to travel a long way or watch from abroad.

Thick stone walls, leaded windows and poor local mobile coverage defeat basic streaming setups that rely on a single connection or venue Wi-Fi. My system bonds four separate 4G/5G connections into one strong, stable signal, and I have the experience to find and secure a workable connection even in genuine signal blackspots — as I did at St Nicholas', Charlwood. If your service is at a venue you're worried about, it's exactly the kind of challenge I'm set up to solve.

Reaching Family Worldwide

Many families in the Crawley and Gatwick area have relatives and friends spread across the country and the world, for whom a funeral live stream is the only way to be present at the service in real time — as with the recent Charlwood service I streamed to family in England, Scotland, Australia and Canada.

I provide a reliable, high-quality broadcast that invited guests can watch from anywhere in the world through a private link, with a full recording to revisit afterwards in their own time. To see how this works in practice, you can explore my funeral streaming examples.

  • ”My friend George Richmond, the Director of Photography for the Marvel movie Deadpool, took on the responsibility of selecting a videographer for my husband's funeral. He chose you out of everyone he looked at, and I am immensely grateful for that decision. Your work is truly remarkable!”

  • "Shaun gave us very good and clear advice at the start. Worked tirelessly to make sure everything was just as we wanted it. Completed the videos in a very short window. Also completed extra videos and dealt with the funeral directors on our behalf. Has answered a million questions along the way with good grace and patience. The outcome has been amazing."
