I'm there in person for every funeral.

Real funerals in Suffolk
Nearby: Braintree Cemetery, Essex. A short drive south of Sudbury, in March 2026, I streamed a service held entirely at the graveside for family watching across the UK, Spain and Australia. Outdoors, sound and signal take extra care, so I set up early and tested everything before the family arrived.
Nearby: St Mary's, Watton, Norfolk. About 12 miles north of Thetford, in December 2024, I live streamed a funeral at this market-town church for family and friends who couldn't make the journey. They followed the service from home as it happened, wherever they were.

Suffolk's crematoria
Seven Hills Crematorium at Nacton serves Ipswich and the east, West Suffolk Crematorium at Risby covers Bury St Edmunds and Newmarket, and Ipswich Crematorium sits in the town's old cemetery. In the north, Waveney Memorial Park near Beccles serves Lowestoft. Big services often go to St Edmundsbury Cathedral in Bury.
Wool churches and weak signal
Many Suffolk funerals are in medieval wool churches like Lavenham and Long Melford, or small village churches with a churchyard burial straight after. Flint walls and open farmland do nothing for phone reception, which is why I arrive with several mobile networks bonded together and try them out beforehand. If the committal is in the churchyard, here's what to expect outside.

Yes, along with Ipswich and Waveney. Crematorium slots are short, so I'm ready well before the hearse arrives, and a church service earlier in the day is no problem.
Can you stream from a remote village church?
Yes. Remote parishes are where my bonded connection earns its keep, and I'll check reception at the church in advance where I can.
