Leicestershire Funeral Photographer
“Dear Shaun
Having viewed the photographs you took of my beloved Christopher’s funeral on the 8th November 2018, and after hearing the comments made by others who have also viewed them, I can only say that I’m so glad that I have this beautiful treasure to look back on at any time I wish to. The funeral service was beautiful, a fitting tribute to a beautiful person, and I’m so proud that I have photographs of our wonderful priest who celebrated Christopher’s life. Looking at the photographs allows me to pray again at the graveside, and I find this very comforting. You captured emotions so well, and made the occasion even more dignified and solemn. I am so grateful for all your support, sensitivity, and unfailing professionalism throughout. Really I am overwhelmed.
Thank you so much Shaun. ”
Funeral Photographer Leicestershire | A Winter Farewell at Gilroes Cemetery
Capturing the heartfelt moments of a farewell is always a privilege. Chris’ funeral was a day filled with deep love, dignified tradition, and warm remembrance. As a funeral photographer and videographer in Leicestershire, I was honoured to document every detail of this meaningful service for the family.
A Traditional Horse-Drawn Procession
The day began at the family home, where a stunning horse-drawn carriage from Buckminster Funerals arrived, carrying Chris’ coffin, gently draped in a treasured family heirloom shroud. This elegant and moving tribute reflected the family’s love and careful planning.
Memorial Service at Church of Our Lady of Good Counsel
From there, the funeral procession made its way to The Church of Our Lady of Good Counsel, where friends and family gathered for a beautiful memorial service. The presence of Scottish bagpiper Paddy McGowan added an emotional and musical grace as he led Chris into the church.
Father Abbem Emmanuel delivered a deeply compassionate thanksgiving service, offering space for reflection, gratitude, and tribute.
Final Goodbye at Gilroes Cemetery & Crematorium
Following the service, the funeral moved to Gilroes Cemetery & Crematorium for the final blessing and burial. The cold winter air made the farewell feel especially solemn, yet as the family said their goodbyes, the sun gently broke through, casting soft light over the moment — a fitting tribute to Chris’ legacy.

Thank You
A heartfelt thank you to Priscilla and the family for entrusting me with such an important responsibility. Your strength and openness were humbling, and it was an honour to be part of this day.
