The Importance of Live Streaming Funerals
The Importance of Live Streaming Funerals
In today's interconnected world, the ability to stay connected with loved ones during significant life events has never been more crucial. One such event, where connection and presence are deeply felt, is a funeral. Traditionally, attending a funeral in person has been the primary way to offer support and say goodbye. However, live streaming funerals has emerged as a valuable service, providing numerous benefits for families and friends who cannot attend in person. Here, we discuss the importance of live streaming funerals and how it can bring comfort and connection during difficult times.
Bridging the Distance
One of the most significant benefits of live streaming funerals is the ability to bridge the physical distance between loved ones. In an era where families often live in different cities, countries, or even continents, it can be challenging for everyone to gather in one place. Live streaming allows friends and family from around the world to attend the service virtually, ensuring that no one is left out due to geographical constraints. The Guardian discusses how live-streamed funerals have changed during COVID-19.

The Funeral of Benjamin Zephaniah - Rugby Funeral Videography
I had the privilege of filming the funeral of Benjamin Zephaniah
As a funeral videographer, I consider it an extraordinary privilege to film and capture the intimate moments of people's lives, especially during their most poignant and challenging times. To document the shared memories of those who have departed is an incredible responsibility and something I am extremely passionate about. Such a privilege became profoundly evident when I was entrusted to film the private funeral of Benjamin Zephaniah, a renowned British Jamaican poet, writer, and animal rights activist.

Case Study: African Funeral in Hertfordshire
African Funeral Streaming Services | Live Stream Funerals Worldwide
As a professional who specialises in Funeral Streaming for African Funerals, I am privileged to have the opportunity to witness and participate in various cultural funeral ceremonies. It is fascinating to see the different ways in which each culture celebrates, mourns, and approaches funerals. Even within the same culture, each experience can be entirely unique.
I was booked on the day to cover the Funeral Streaming, both at St Francis of Assisi Church in Welwyn Garden City, followed by a burial at Hatfield Hyde Cemetery in Hertfordshire. It was a colorful and vibrant ceremony, with traditional drums beating as the hearse arrived at the church, and it was an honor to be a part of it.
Natalie's Tribute Film & Funeral Slideshow
We only had a few days notice and we managed to craft this Funeral Slideshow and Tribute Film as the family needed it within a couple of days. So as well as travelling 700 miles within two days and my usually funeral streaming, I had to try and get this finished with some pretty late nights editing until 3am.
There were 150 images taken from Natalie’s life, carefully chaptered with slides and quotes at various sections , so it was pretty complex. Family sent the photos over from South Africa and the Slideshow was used at Natalie’s Funeral just a couple of days later.

Sikh Funeral at Slough Crematorium & Slough Gurdwara Singh Sabha
A few days ago I had the privilege of providing the Funeral Videography for a Sikh Funeral at Slough Crematorium and the Gurdwara Singh Sabha Slough. Dorset Funeral Videography - South Downs Natural Burial Site Woodland Burial
The coffin was carried down by the Pallbearers and Funeral Director on a Hand Cart followed by Family and friends. It’s always a challenge to film this moment from lots of different angles without being too intrusive, but it was really important to the family to capture the essence of this part of the Funeral. I had already been filming lots of details such as drone shots alone the canopy of the forest ready to set the scene and lead up to these moments. The whole service was beautifully done, with some singing, a reading, tributes and touching music played in the background at various moments. Once the coffin had been lowered then flowers were sprinkled in the grave while music was played in the background on an instrument which I have never seen before, but sounded amazing.
Tribute Film and Funeral Slideshow
Here’s a Tribute Film & Slideshow we put together for one of our families where we Live Streamed a Funeral in Dorking a couple of days ago. This was a rather large set of photos, 123 in total set to 3 music tracks. A little bigger than what we normally do but as always we’re happy to work to whatever your ideas are. We also provided the family with a projector and screen and they played this during the wake.
Sensitive Baby Funeral Photography in Skipton, North Yorkshire
Thank you to the family for allowing me to share these images, It was an absolute privilege to travel up to Skipton to photograph Baby Oliver’s ceremony at Tarn Moor Memorial Woodlands. This was an incredible family who showed immense strength and love throughout the day. There was colouring, painting, stories and reflection as mum & dad shared their thoughts and memories of Oliver. Afterwards we all walked across to Tarn Moor Memorial Woodlands where some final words and readings were shared as his ashes were buried and a tree planted to mark the area.
Greenacres Chiltern Natural Burial Grounds - Funeral Videography
Whilst most of our work of late has been live streaming, here’s a funeral we filmed a couple of days ago for the lovely Steve Mead, whom I had the privilege to meet last year and who’s life was cut short by this dreaded disease.
His Funeral took place at Greenacres Chiltern Cemetery & Woodland Burial Site set in 72 Acres of beautiful woodland. This was the perfect setting to celebrate his life and the journey into the forest where he was buried and surrounded by nature was truly beautiful.
“My dear friend George Richmond, the Director of Photography for the Marvel movie Deadpool, took on the responsibility of selecting a videographer for my husband's funeral. He chose you out of everyone he looked at, and I am immensely grateful for that decision.
Your work is truly remarkable - from the beautiful opening shots to the impeccable sound quality and the finer details throughout. The way you captured the vibrant blue sky was touching, especially since my husband had such an affection for blue skies. My heartfelt thanks for everything you've done.”
