The Good Funeral Guide - 'Be Better' Event 2019, Stratford-Upon-Avon

Good Funeral Guide ‘Be Better’ Event – 2019 Photography

Documenting Progress in the UK Funeral Industry

In 2019, I had the privilege of photographing the Good Funeral Guide ‘Be Better’ Event, held at the Royal Shakespeare Company’s Studio Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon. Organised by the brilliant team behind The Good Funeral Guide, the event was designed to inspire and support progressive change in the funeral industry, and it was a real honour to be involved.

Throughout the day, the theatre was filled with passionate and forward-thinking voices, all championing dignity, choice, and care in modern funerals. It was a great opportunity to reconnect with some familiar faces and industry professionals I’ve worked alongside at past funerals.

Speakers included:

The event also included a fascinating discussion around the environmental impact of funeral choices, a topic that is becoming increasingly relevant to many families when planning a service.

A special mention must go to the spectacular cake that was created specifically for the event—beautiful, intricate, and perfectly themed.

On stage during the day will be Beverley Bulmer, from Rosedale Funeral Home, Holly from Holly’s Funerals, Daniel and Abi from Abney Funeral Services, Xina Gooding Broderick from Gooding Funeral Services, Beverley Bulmer from Rosedale Funeral Home and Emma Curtis, from Ceremony Matters, with Steven Cousins from Brahms Electric Vehicles joining a special guest to talk about the environmental impact of funeral choices.
